Description of Mission Work:

We spent most our time doing evangelism in parks and high traffic public areas. The team prepared and performed dramas, dances, songs, and testimonies to share in front of large groups which led into times for each member to speak with people one on one and share with them and pray for them. We were able to see many people accept Jesus as their Savior. Often we were then able to get information from them so that the ministry would be able to follow up with them and disciple them. We also spent a lot of our time prayer walking and really interceding for the city and for the needs of the ministry.

Transportation: Flight to Lima, Peru and a bus ride from Lima to Huancayo. In Huancayo, we walked, rode in taxis, and sometimes had a bus

Food: The Ivey’s have cooks that prepared most all of our meals. We ate out a few times, just in local restaurants, but mostly we ate all of our meals at their home.

Lodging: We spent two nights, the first and last, in a hotel in Lima. The majority of our trip was spent in a nice hostel very close to the Ivey’s home in Huancayo.

Student’s response to the mission’s experience:

This trip was amazing. It is a great trip to take with both a young and new group of Christians as well as very mature followers. There is quite a bit of spiritual warfare, but you are able to use it in a safe and learning environment. The team really grew a lot and were stretched in many ways. Unity was quickly strengthened. This is a great trip for students to grow, to work outside of their comfort zones, and to experience what the Lord is doing in other parts of the world.

Preparation, guidance, hospitality, and interaction of your hosts/host agency:

The Ivey’s are very easy and helpful to work with. They prepared for us in amazing ways. Arthur put together all of our travel arrangements and lodging for us and made the preparation very easy and not stressful.
