About
There are a many ways to evaluate and discover the heart of a campus – athletics, academics, location and it’s college union. Like no other building on campus, “the union” is the gathering place of the college. By simply walking through it, you gain a sense of the community by what you find inside. We have designed collegeunion.org as a place where United Methodists in campus ministry can gather. While this gathering cannot take the place of real-time relationships, we believe it can foster relationships – old and new – and introduce new ones.
When you enter “The Union”, we want you to find a place where you belong and a forum to which you contribute. We hope the thoughts, resources, events, and material found here foster a conversation that is moving somewhere. We want to “consider how we may spur one another on to love and good deeds (Hebrews10:24)”. Three big ideas shape our hope for this community.
We want this site to be an organic community (life creating life), not a professional organization.
Help us spread the word and invite others to join in on the conversation, work and sharing of ministry.
We are focused on transformation, not information.
We seek to nurture and support those who are seeking to make a difference on campus.
We are focused on the mission of making disciples for Christ, not simply maintaining the status quo.
We are seeking to discover where God is at work and join Him in it.
As we go “live”, we need to thank some people. None of this would have been possible without the support and encouragement of Paul Ervin, the staff, and the Board of the Foundation for Evangelism – thank you! A big “shout-out” goes to Steve Moore – thank you for “championing” the work of campus ministry and helping us to get organized. Most of all, we want to thank all of our brothers and sisters who are striving for the Kingdom of God on college campus everywhere.
Welcome to The Union.
